Obviously, this blog is not a baby and mom blog or a food blog or household blog. It is about Jesus and His work in our lives. BUT….I love tips – regarding everything. If you can give me a list of short tips, I will devour it. It can be mixed categories, I don’t mind. 🙂

So this is what you will probably find in the Resources/Favorites category…a little (and sometimes a lot) of everything. Stuff that I experienced and stuff that I liked or read or watched, etc.

And after this beautiful introduction, on to today’s tip.

The first non-christian product I will talk about is……

Sweet potatoes going in…

I will put some pictures of mine – baby food making in action. It is well loved. It has been used for 4 children between my sister and I (so far 😉 ).

just a different view 🙂

Here is the Amazon link to the product with a way better-looking picture – take a good look – it won’t be that pretty for too long – you will use it a lot. (This is an affiliate link)

So why I am writing about it here?

Because it is really, really great. It steams and then it purees the food. Yes…you can use a regular steamer and then use a regular blender or an inversion blender to puree the food, but IT IS NOT the same. And you might ask – again – why?

Because you cut the food (of course, wash and peel if needed), you put it in the container, add some water, you turn the knob towards the STEAM position and you can go to sleep. Or do some other things around the house. Or play with your baby. Or do whatever you want to do. You don’t have to worry about it.

And it’s on… The light will turn off when done steaming

WHENEVER you remember you were preparing some food for the baby, go toward the machine and turn the knob toward the right, where it says chop and pulse a few times.

Yummy sweet potatoes puree… Who wants some?

THIS IS ALL!

I do take the lid off and let the food cool down at this time and later transfer it to a glass container and feed the baby 😉 or store in the fridge.

Other thoughts? If you are like someone I know and maybe forget about the food for almost the whole day after you turned the steamer on, you should be fine. The baby might be too ;). I think that person had to run some errands and completely forgot she was preparing food for the baby. Thankfully, the milk was with her anywhere she went so the baby still got some nourishment… 🙂

But…seriously…every time I make the food for my 9 month old son, I keep saying I have to write about this. It is so easy and such a help for the majority of the moms and dads. I want to say for ALL moms and dads, but there still might be one person there that does not find it useful. You never know!

I will say it again….You don’t need to stay around your stove and watch for the veggies to steam. You just turn a knob! It is SO nice and easy and convenient. It is definitely something I recommend buying for a new mom or for any mom actually. Buy it even if they don’t have it in the registry. The family will be very grateful.

I have to add…it is expensive (especially if planning on having just one child) and we wouldn’t have bought ours. We put it on the registry and hoped that someone will get it for us. We weren’t going to buy it otherwise. But now I am so grateful for the person that got it for us… Every time I make the food, I am so thankful.

This is it, Y’all!   (Am I allowed to use “Y’all” after being a southerner for a little over a year?!? Hmmm…Let me know what you think. I might have moved here just so I can use this word….you’ll never know!)

Much peace and joy to you!

In Christ always, Gabriela
